During WWI the soldiers sometimes calmed their nerves by etching designs into dog tags. Little birds have been carved into the metal of this one. As Tahitian Pearls are said to give their wearers courage and strength, it seems fitting that they should frame this soldier’s artwork and honor his sacrifice.
